The Bathroom Situation: What’s Really Going On?

It seems to be the last thing the administration cares about in this school.
The cycle is constant; this door’s closed, go to the other one, that door’s closed (despite having a monitor right there), finally finding a bathroom, there’s people vaping, the urinals have miscellaneous floating items… and there’s no soap. And when there is soap, there’s just a mess of it on the counter for no particular reason. Stalls are detached and everything is grimy. There’s some sort of subliminal message in the bathroom screaming “free me...” and I can’t do anything about it.
So I went to ask some questions.
One of my teachers (whom I will not name) said it was because of the many irresponsible students “vaping and tagging” the bathrooms, which led to their closure. But why does that poor choice on their behalf have to rob me of my bathroom privileges? The teacher posed the same question I’ve been thinking all along. I need answers from an administrator, then.
Upon asking, the disdain of these closures left my body and I was humbled by the explanation. It’s been about safety the whole time.
“You can’t pee when you’re dizzy.”
I was told that students randomly flush foreign objects in the toilet and stick paper to the walls, all of which unfortunately lands on the responsibility of the custodial staff. Water will fill the floor when toilets flood, so the higher-ups will need to herd the crowd in order to prevent slippage. This management of students is difficult to handle when many want to go to the bathroom in a rush of things, so closing the bathroom was the ultimate executive decision they made.
The conclusion of these findings is that the students of anti-social sorts are the cause. They will want to mess with anything they see in the bathroom, just for some ounce of fun. Consequences are no problem with those who lack morals, as tragic as it may be.
I know you who are reading this article do not act this way, and for that, I am glad.
Stay strong, Mustangs, and always ask questions!
